Brixies’ Brewers’ Club
Minutes 4/14/10

1. Discussion on ideas for club activity.
a. Details for club Brew Day May 1st. We will make 3 Dubbels with 3 different yeasts. We will start at 10:30 and stager the mashes by about ½ hour.
b. Mark is going to take the lead on looking into hosting our own BJCP exam in December. He will have more info at the next meeting. Please decide if you are interested.
c. We discussed possibly getting a smaller barrel if we don’t have enough people interested.
d. Club library is up on the website. Any additional books can be added just give a list to me, Mark or Curtis.
2. Any discussion on another brewery/beer tour?
a. Still looking into Taste of the Midwest.
b. We decided to meet near the pub entrance at noon on dark lord day. People’s schedules did not warrant car pooling. We exchanged numbers, send back and email if you are interested in meeting up.
c. National Home Brewer’s conference and competition is June 17-19 in St. Paul. Anyone planning to attend? We will discuss this next meeting.
d. New Glarus for our next brewery tour? Discuss next meeting.
3. June beer competition is and “Summer beer” so anyone should be able to enter.
4. Other Business
a. Per email from Brent, Beer Hoptacular June 4-5th.
b. Next meeting will be May 12thUpcoming tapings at Brixies. Metropolitan’s Alt and Founder’s Double IPA
