Also at the December 2009 meeting - the Club will put on a Stout Tasting Competition for Members.
The club decided to go with a double blind system. Each entry should be turned in with your name and the beer style. Another person will place a number, along with the style, on the bottle and record the brewer's name. This will be given to another person who will give it a new number, along with the style, and record the previous number. This way no one will know who’s is who’s.
The Club also decided there will be a first round with one beer per person. After that, there will be a second round with all additional entries. The judges will use score sheets from the BJCP to score entries. For each entry members should bring 3, brown, 12oz bottles with no markings. Each bottle should be labeled with your name and the style attached with a rubber band.

It’s that time again, Wednesday is the next meeting. The agenda is below and its pretty short this time. I think it worked out pretty well to start the meeting about 7:15 so I think we can do that again so we can get straight to the tasting. I realized that in order to have enough copies of the BJCP score sheets for everyone to judge each beer it would require a lot of copies. I think I will just print off enough for some samples and then we can do the actual scoring on scratch paper. If you’re not familiar with the system I have included a link to the score sheet and the style guidelines, I can also print a copy of the guidelines as a reference. It would be helpful if people can bring their own paper. I’ll bring some but if everyone brings their own paper and pen we’ll be sure to have enough. Remember to bring 3 bottles of each beer you want to submit with your name and the style on a label that is rubber banded to the bottle. Please remove all other labels and markings from the bottles. If anyone has anything else let me know, and we’ll see you all Wednesday.
