Hello all,
Great time again last night. Thanks to everyone for all the tasty brews. Please look through the minutes so we can start to make decisions on the activities and trips at the next meeting. Also, I finally got around to figuring out how to add pictures and edit the website so if anyone has any pictures or anything else to add to the site let me know.
Cheers,
Brett
Brixies’ Brewers’ Club
Minutes 1/13/10
1. Discussion of Winter Tasting/Competition
a. Next time we will try to set up the samples like a tasting so we don’t all try the same beer at once and we will not score our own beers.
2. Discussion on ideas for club activity.
a. We discussed doing a club brew day at Kyle’s store. The idea was to brew 3 batches or so and change only one ingredient. We will need to work out what to brew, bringing of equipment, etc. We had talked about doing it on National Homebrew day which is May 1st (We thought it was in March so we may want to move that date up). Next meeting let’s try to get a date if we don’t want to wait until May.
b. We discussed buying an off flavor kit to use at a meeting. The cost is around $150 which we could split. If you are interested we can figure out who is willing to split the cost and then decide if we want to pursue it.
c. Drunk Monk competition is in early March. We discussed getting a group together to enter/judge.
3. Any discussion on another brewery/beer tour?
a. Chris is trying to get us group tickets to taste of the Midwest
b. We need to start thinking about getting a group together to go to Dark Lord Day and/or the National Hombrewers Conference. Next meeting we’ll get the dates and start seeing who is interested in going, so we can decide if it is worth pursuing.
4. Reminder that the next competition is the March meeting. (Amber Ales/Lagers)
5. Other Business
a. Urban Knaves of Grain will be at Brixies Saturday for a social. Some of us were talking about stopping by.

Curtis Linder here. I have missed the past few meeting since I've not made beer recently. But I went to Kyle's store on Saturday with Andrew and got a Corny keg set up! I will be getting an English amber ale batch started soon! Thanks Kyle!
