3/10 Meeting

Hello all,
Find the agenda below. We do have some things to discuss but I think we can get through it pretty quick so we can start the competition right away. Try to get there as close to 7 as possible so it doesn’t get to be too late. For the competition just bring 3, 12 oz bottles with your name and the style on a note card rubber banded to the bottle like last time. I’ll number some note cards that each person can just grab and put on their own bottles. We can all just write the number on the label we take off (with our name and style) and put them in a folder. That should be the simplest way to do it, the only one who will know your number will be you and if we don’t judge our own it shouldn’t be a problem. Then we will set them up like a tasting so you can judge them in any order. If you have more than one entry, decide which one you want to be in the contest and the others will go in the “outer ring” for judging only. I’ll bring copies of the score sheets to use as a reference just like last time and some folders to put your scores/comments in for each beer. I’ll also bring a big cooler this time so we only need to set out one bottle at a time. I think that covers it, see you Wednesday.

Agenda 3/10/10

1. Discussion on ideas for club activity.
a. Who will be participating in the Club Brew Day May 1st? We need to work out the details at the April meeting. Respond to Kyle’s email about supplies.
b. Those of us going to Drunk Monk will try to talk to certified Judges and get some info on the BJCP for next meeting.
c. Who is going to Drunk Monk? Do we want to go together?
d. Discussion on obtaining a Barrel to do a club brew.
e. Club Library Post has been started on the website.
2. Any discussion on another brewery/beer tour?
a. Taste of the Midwest.
b. Dark Lord Day is April 24th. Be on the lookout for Golden Tickets and we should really start looking into transportation if we are going as a group.
c. National Home Brewer’s conference and competition is June 17-19 in St. Paul. 1st round entries are due the end of March. Two Brother’s is not the drop site this year, you’ll have to mail your entries. Brixies Brewers is a registered club so make sure to select it when you register.
d. New Glarus for our next brewery tour?
