Brixies’ Brewers’ Club
Minutes 3/10/10
1. Discussion on ideas for club activity.
a. We will make decisions about the club brew day at the April meeting so decide if you would like to be involved. It will be May 1st at Chicagoland Wine Makers.
b. Mark, Dave and I will be going to Drunk Monk, we will report back.
c. Discussion on obtaining a Barrel to do a club brew will be discussed at the next meeting try to decide if you are interested. If we don’t have 11 people who want to do it it won’t work.
d. Curtis is going to work on moving the club library and certain other posts to a separate location so they stay visible. Possibly using google docs.
2. Any discussion on another brewery/beer tour?
a. Still looking intoTaste of the Midwest.
b. Dark Lord Day is April 24th. Golden tickets will be on sale on March 17th. It may be too late to get transportation but we can look into it if enough people want to do it. Let me know if you are interested and I’ll put a list together.
c. National Home Brewer’s conference and competition is June 17-19 in St. Paul. 1st round entries are due the end of March. Two Brother’s is not the drop site this year, you’ll have to mail your entries. Brixies Brewers is a registered club so make sure to select it when you register.
d. New Glarus for our next brewery tour? We will discuss this at a later date.
3. We decided it would be best to keep the category broad for the June competition. Everyone at the meeting thought that by having the theme be “Summer Beers” we could get a lot of participation. The Ambers/Bocks competition didn’t have a lot of entries, hopefully the broad category will get more.
4. Other Business
a. Stone beers will be available in Chicago starting April 1st. Chris will have 6 Stone beers on tap at Brixies
b. Brixies Tasting will be March 27th from 4-7.
c. Next meeting will be April 14th
